On wednesday i was at electronics, the professor knew that i’m good at pc’s so we went down in the basement from where we took out 6 PI pc’s and we also found a PC from 1986 which i’m going to present to you guys.

First of all its pretty heavy, many components are missing, but still it’s weight is somewhat around 7-8KGs because of the iron/copper case

*Note: all pics are enlargeable!

Also the PC features a lock button to prevent access to it

The PC doesn’t have a single mainboard, originally it had 10 ISA slots in which the mainboards were introduced:the memory/CPU/other components.

The CPU is a intel 386 CPU manufactured in 1985(back then it was a big hit, even when it got to my country in ‘92 it was a huge hit)

The 368 Intel CPU has 168 PINS(today’s INTEL quadcore CPU has 240 Pins)

In the pic below the small DARK-BLACK chips represent the memory(RAM)

The PC also had a board for connectivity with printers(Parallel port)

IF you open up a P2 PC in some you will still find ISA slots( you can find more info about ISA slots at WIKIPEDIA )

The components were taken down from the mainboard (the professor needed them to throw away the box and the empty boards) but i got to keep the CPU as a nice souvenir :)

If some parts wouldn’t have missed and every part would have been intact most probably i would have tried to start it up and not strip it.
