This model is equipped (or rather I should say just IS) with a 8.1 MegaPixels camera, a Xenon flash, auto focus, image stabiliser and the whole range of new technologies available now.

This phone is also capable of recording videos at a VGA resolution of 640×480 with video stabilizer.

Also, in advantage comes the GPS receiver and the anti-stratch screen at a size of 2.4 inches.

The phone also includes technologies like 3G, video streaming and stereo Bluetooth, so you can listed to your favourite music without any wires.

It also comes with a 2GB memory stick, that can store about 650 pictures taken at the highest resolution.

Now the bad parts come: This camera/phone doesn’t have optic zoom… only digital. So if you want to zoom… think again! You will lose the quality of the image. And also, pictures are not so coloured, is like a TV which colour setting is almost turned off. I’ve seen the same issue on Sony Ericsson K850i.

My advice: If you have some money, don’t invest them in this mobile phone. You will rather be dissapointed of the quality of the images, and that’s because the technology is not so evolved at the moment. And I personally think that a mobile phone will never be compared to a digital camera. And that’s because they don’t want to.

It’s nice to hear that other good things are happening to the world besides em going on a trip to greece on 11th July.

Apple announced today that the new iPhone 3G will be released on 11th July!

3G Implementation

The brand new iPhone 3G has some super sleek advanced features that will surely grab your attention!

For this occasion Apple setup a guided tour of their new product, which you can watch online. There are 3 types of streams(small/medium/large) so that even a guy with dial up can take the tour. - Note that you have to install Quicktime player in order to take the tour.

With the new 3G system incorporated you will be able to reach speeds way higher(almost double) than on 2G EDGE networks!  Now multitasking is taken to a brand new level, thanks to the advancement of 3G which allows both voice and data transfer in same time.

Above i’ve presented you he shiny new features of the upcoming iPhone 3G. The only thing that will determine you to buy or not buy the product will be its price(a small tip: try to resist the temptation for a few months because its price will probably drop).

The regular Opera browser doesn’t have any chances to take the throne from Internet Explorer(Firefox will surely dethrone IE) but its version for mobile phones named Opera Mini surely pwnes the competition!

Opera Mini 4.1 was in beta stage for quite a while and it was about time they released the final version! If you want a super fast browser on your Blackberry or new-gen mobile phone Opera Mini is the ideal solution! It will make you put away your laptop on trips and fully use your phone’s web features, meaning that you will be able to blog/IM/browse in great comfort and satisfaction.

The new version of Opera Mini features a more user friendly GUI(general user interface):

The address bar works similar to the T9 editor at phones(when writing and SMS T9 tries to complete the word reducing your writing time), so it will try to present you similar matches using your browse history and bookmarks.

Opera claims that its new version for mobile phones provides 50% faster browsing, because all the data goes trough the Opera servers.(i tried it out on a friend’s Blackberry and i was pretty impressed by the increased speed).

The new Opera Mini will let you search for text on web pages using its built-in search. This can save you a lot of time, trust me on this.

If you connect your phone with your PC using Opera Link you will be able to sync your bookmarks on the PC with the bookmarks on your mobile phone! I Love this feature, all my bookmarks got transfered within seconds to my friend’s blackberry(i deleted them after, it was just for testing).

44 Million people just can’t be wrong, if you wish to know more about this exciting new version of Opera Mini feel free to watch Catherine’s presentation ;)

I just bought a new and shiny Nokia 2610. My old siemens just died on me so i had to get a new phone.

I was in a dilemma for quite a while about what phone to buy, originally i wanted to buy an LG KG245 phone for 170$ but my friends slapped me back to reality saying: “dude, it’s just a phone, either if its worth 10 bucks or 1000bucks you will do the same thing on it: talk”.

So i bought the Nokia 2610 due to pressions from my friends to buy a good phone that will last long, heck i also got a 2 year warranty.

The phone’s price was 73$ along with a SIM prepay card from the cellphone operator ORANGE.

The Phone can be put in the middle category of phones. It is an average phone, not too old, not too new. Even though i have it for a day i can say that i’m very pleased of it.

The best thing in it is that it doesn’t have a joystick, it has 4 arrows next to the middle OK button which are for navigation. I heard that many people had bad experiences with phones which have a joystick in the middle for navigation, because they are very sensitive and can be messed up in a short amount of time

Here are the Nokia 2610’s features:

- 128×128 px Display with 65,536 colors

- it supports screensavers, themes and wallpapers

- you can store 300 entries in its phonebook

- 4MB memory

- it features SMS, MMS, Email, Instant Messaging

- GPRS support

- possibility to use MIDI files and mp3 files for ringtones

- connectivity using an USB data cable

- as default it has 2 games installed: coin flipping and nature park

If you are looking for a compact phone which won’t let you down this phone is ideal for you, the only disadvantage is that it doesn’t have a camera.

+ Recently vodafone released its own branded mobile phones. The first own branded Vodafone mobile phone was Vodafone 125, a lightweight, cheap phone, a very good alternative for Nokia 1100.
It has the following specs:

Calculator, SMS;

Talk time-4h;

Stand-by time-6 days

Dimensions 104 x 45 x 12.5

Polyphonical ringtones, speaker;

Dualband GSM 900/1800;

+ Next up was Vodafone 225 mobile phone, an enchanced version of Vodafone 125, it having a 65.000 Colors Screen, the rest of the features remaining the same as at Vodafone 125.

Here are its specs that differ from vodafone 125:

Games, calculator, SMS;

65.000 colors screen;

+ Both of the handsets are extremely handy and easy to use and ofcourse the price is great also, we can simply call them budget phones because almost everyone can afort buying them. Both of them are exclusively available in Vodafone and Vodafone Partner shops.

+ After both phones we’re released everyone taught that Vodafone will take a break and see how the phones sell and do a market study before their next move, but it seems they got ahead of everyone and they just released Vodafone 715. Its slogan is: “The most affordable 3G phone packed with Multimedia processing capabilities. ” The slogan couldn’t be more true as it is since it offers flexibilty and access to multimedia in an easy and CHEAP way.

Here are its specs:

  • dimensions:105 mm long - 45.5 mm wide - 15.5 mm thick
  • weight: 90g
  • battery: Li-Ion, 800 mAh - up to 3h talk time - up to 264h in standby
  • band type: 900/1800/1900 Mhz
  • 3G - Vodafone WAP - WAPGPRS - GPRS - HSCSD - MMS -live!
  • photo camera - Bluetooth - Java - email client - computer cable - infrared
  • speaker - poly sound - color screen - games

+ Take it how you want it, but here’s my advice: if you want a good multimedia phone go with Vodafone 715, its completely worth it! Why spend $400+ for a nokia when you can get this phone with the same features, or maybe best. When you buy something don’t just consider its brand, consider its features and ofcourse its warranty also!
