Coolest WordPress Blog Competition |
I just found out about the competition(hopefully not too late[it's 15th November - 9PM here]) so i decided to put up this post about it.
The contest is held by WPWebhost and basically there will be 3 prizes awarded for the 3 coolest WordPress blogs. The value of the prizes reaches more than 2000$(USD) Who wouldn’t want that?
To enter each participant must write a blog post about the contest and get at least 5 legit comments(shouldn’t be too hard with so many friends online on YM! now).
That’s about it. I’ve seen lots of submissions so far, and some people submitted their blogs where they are using free themes. I’m not sure if they will be included in the top 20, but hopefully I will be!
If you dropped by feel free to leave a comment.
Thanks!

Special Hosting Promo at BlueHost |
This autumn you can get Premium quality hosting for the lowest price: $4.95 which is a special promo for this period. If you do a bit of maths the price for 12 months is ONLY $59,4 which is an outstanding price for the great quality services + a free domain.
Think of it this way: if you were to sepparately buy a domain for $10 that would mean $10 less in your pocket. The $59,4 includes a free domain registered for 1 year(over which you have total control) and lots of great extras like:
Site Promotion Package
Free eCommerce/Cart
Free Blog, Forum, Board
Top Notch 24/7 Support
$25 Free Yahoo Credits
$50 Free Google Credits
Also the plan includes Unlimited Disk space and Unlimited Bandwidth(yes, yes i know that unlimited doesn’t exist, but it represents a value more than enough than what you need.
Either way you look at it, this deal is a steal, so take advantage of it while it lasts!

A cool Feature suggestion for Gmail |
Even though the creation of the new Gmail emoticons was a great move of the Gmail team, they also implemented dumb features like Gmail Goggles. In my oppinion the Gmail team should consider feature suggestions made in the Gmail Labs Groups . I checked out numerous threads, most of them being old with great ideas which could have been implemented.
This is the main reason i’m doing the feature suggestion here on my blog and not at the groups where i would most probably waste 3-4minutes of my time writing a feature suggestion. The chances that a guy from the Gmail team will read it are almost null, but here even if the chances are also small at least you guys can read my idea.
The idea

So, the basic idea is to allow people who are using Gmail on Google Apps to access their email accounts using the login form over at Gmail.com.
For me the partnerpage is really annoying and that i have to direct the users who have email accounts at a site of mine to that page. Wouldn’t it be easier if people using G Apps could log in dirextly from Gmail?
In my opinion this would be a feature which would be highly appreciated by website owners who provide email accounts to their users/customers. Simple and effective.

Choose from 16 Yahoo! Messenger online status indicators |
I had to build an email subscription manager for my colleagues at college, and because here Yahoo! messenger is so popular i decided to put an online indicator. I was amazed to see that the guys at yahoo made new online/offline indicators, the total number of indicators being 16.
To tell you the truth the indicators are really funky and i really like them because they are creative and attract attention. Unfortunately yesterday i used a classic online indicator, because that was what fit the best.
To insert a online indicator into your website/blog you have to use the following code:
<a href=”ymsgr:sendIM?YOUR ID HERE“><img border=”0″ src=”http://opi.yahoo.com/online?u=YOUR ID HERE&m=g&t=NUMBER FROM 0 to 16“/>
Check out a few of the status indicators:
![]()
Choose the one you like and add it to your website. Happy Instant messaging!

Animation taken to a whole new level |
Okay, so after watching the i was dazzled, amazed, shocked, pwned, phew…the sensation is unexplainable. At first I thought that was a real human being, just after i got to the effects overlay part.
The video was made by Image Metrics Animation Studio , go ahead, vsiit the website and press the big “Play” button and get amazed once again. Dang that’s some cutting edge animation and the most important part that got my attention is that only a camera and a sofware is required to adapt the facial movements to the virtual character.
Image Metrics’s client base speaks for itself: From EA Games to ATI and Capcom, they’ve worked with lots of Large companies.
As you know in the new Need For Speed (NFS Undercover) the role of the federal agent Chase Linh will be played Maggie Q. Nfs Undercover will be launched in Europe this november(as usually in every year). Hopefully this version of NFS will be more enjoyable than its predecessor Pro Street.
I wonder…were the animation scenes (movie scenes) made by Image Metrics?
Check out the Need For Speed: Undercover trailer:

Templates.com – One of the best premium and free templates & resources site |
Taking a quick look at the logo you can notice that templates.com combines fun with professionalism. Maybe this is why i like it more than TemplateMonster. Template Monster focuses way too much on seriosity and always jumps directly to the point, while Templates captures its customers by using fun elements in its design.
Templates.com has a great variety of products you can choose from, starting from templates to 3D Models they got ‘em all.
Purchasing goes on a credit basis, 1 credit = 1$, this means that if a template costs 66 Credits than the price in $ is 66 USD.

Templates.com offers full customization of any template to make it fit your website like a glove. Sure it costs some extra $, but you know that you have a perfectly working template personalized just for you, and which will most likely attract new customers. By this way your template won’t be “just an ordinary theme”, it will be YOUR template.
Okay, remember that the title of the post says: “Templates.com – One of the best premium and free templates & resources site” . I always like to leave the best to the end(it’s like when you eat, you leave desert last, and not eat it before the soup).
Templates.com has lots of premium freebies which can be downloaded at no cost, just by registering an account after which you can go ahead and start downloading Free 3D Models , Free Web templates , Free Wallpapers , Free Illustrations .
There’s a reason why i bolded the Free Web templates link. Although they only have 3 free templates the quality of them compensates the quantity. Trust me, you will find that high-quality templates on very few websites on the web.
Simply add the free items to your cart and proceed to checkout. After checking out your downloades will be activated within seconds and you can instantly download them from your Account Download panel.
I noticed that many of the free resources have lots of views and few downloads, for example a very high-quality free template has like 1900 views and 87 downloads. using some basic maths we can calculate that only 4.57% of those who viewed the template also downloaded it. Maybe they are afraid of registering an account or i don’t know what, but here’s my advice: don’t make the same mistake!

Benq DC C640 Digicam Contest Winner announced! |
Do you know what day is it today? It’s prize give away day!
Although the digicam’s box got a bit dusty the camera is in excellent shape, and with the warranty seal intat on it of course(the warranty applies world wide, because it’s offered by the producer(BENQ) and you will get all reciepts and legally signed stuff that i got from the store with it)
A total Number of 1771 IDs were gathered and they were all entered in the draw, but there can be only one winner which is gh0ul_1@[email hidden].com
I’ve sent him a mail about 5 minutes ago, and as soon as he replies i will edit my post with more details on him.
Here’s an actual print screen of the draw:
His ID number is 155, for some reason most of the IDs in the top 25 were IDs with digits between 0 and 180, most of the 1000+ IDs got to the middle of the randomly ordered list.
I would like to thank everyone for participating, and keep heads up because in about 3 weeks when i get back home from Greece(i’m leaving on the 11th) a new contest will start!

Winning a BENQ DC C640 Digicam was never so easy! |
That’s right! You can win a BENQ DC C640 Digicam just like mine in such a simple way!
Before i jump to the point, i want to tell you how i can give it away, and other gadgets as well in the upcoming months: A friend of mine is working at a consumer electronics retailer, and they have the promotion to their employees that they can buy gadgets and items that are sold w/o commission prices and extra fees. So basically he can buy gadgets a lot cheaper that the raft price. This means that every month i will be buying a gadget from him and giving it away to a randomly picked user who will get a number for each entry(the numbers will be shuffled using www.random.org). This means the more numbers you have the higher your chances to win are.
This month i decided to give away a shiny new BENQ DC C640 Digicam which has lots and lots and lots of cool features, and i own one for more than half year and i’m VERY VERY pleased with it. BENQ DC C640 has a retail price of ~120$.
The camera is in perfect shape, in matter of fact i took some pictures with it:

Shipping will be supported by me, and is available almost to all the world. Those of you who live in Africa – sorry guys, i can’t send you the digicam there, shipping alone costs 40$.
