Tutorial: Manually install Gallery

This is the official website of Gallery, the open source web based photo album organizer. Gallery gives you an intuitive way to blend photo management seamlessly into your own website whether you’re running a small personal site or a large community site.

Installation

Step 1: Go to the Gallery download center and get the latest release.

Step 2: Upload the files on your web server using a ftp client (e.g. SmartFTP)

Step 3: Make sure that the following files are writable:

main.php
index.php
embed.php
upgrade/index.php
lib/support/index.php (optional)

Step 4: Create a fresh new database name.

Step 5: Go to yoursite.com/install to begin the installation.

Step 6: Choose your language and click Begin Installation.

Step 7: Now you have to create a login.txt file and put it in the same directory where the main.php file is located. The login.txt file should contain the characters that Gallery randomly generated for you. After that click Authenticate Me.
Authentication successful! Continue to step 2.

Step 8: A System Check page will appear. If everything is ok click Continue to step 3.

Step 9: Choose your installation type, and click Continue to step 4.

Step 10: Enter your directory path and click Save.
Storage directory set successfully. Continue to step 5.

Step 11: Enter your database information and click save.


Database set up successfully. Continue to step 6.

Step 12: Create a administrator user.

Admin user info entered successfully. Continue to step 7. Config file created successfully. Continue to step 8. Installed Gallery Core successfully. Continue to step 9.

Step 13: Click Activate Selected Modules to install the plugins for Gallery. Continue to step 10Continue to step 11.

Contragulations. You’ve succesfully installed Gallery on your webserver. You can now go to your gallery: yoursite.com/main.php.
