Installation
Step1: Go to the xoops download center and get the latest version.
Step2: Upload the files from the html folder on your web server using a FTP client (e.g. SmartFTP)
Step3: The following folders and files must be writable:
uploads/
cache/
templates_c/
mainfile.php
Step4: Create a fresh new database name.
Step5: Go to yoursite.com to begin the installation.
Step6: Select your language and click Next. A introduction page will appear. Read it and click next.
Step7: If you didn’t make the files and folders from Step 3 writable you should do it now. If you did it already, just click Next.
Step8: Enter your database details and clickNext.
Step9: Confirm the following data by clicking Next.
Step10: Now Xoops is saving the configuration data. It should look like this. Click next.
Step11: A number of confirmation pages will apear. If everything is OK just click next.
Step12: Now you have to create a admin user. After that click next.
Step13:
User Menu Created Successfully
Login Created Successfully
Main Menu Created Successfully
Click next.
Step14: Make sure both Private Messaging and Extended Profiles are checked. Then click next.
Step15: “Module Extended Profiles installed successfully.” Click next and that’s it!
Congratulations. You’ve successfully installed Xoops on your website. Go to yoursite.com/user.php, log in and start using xoops.
