Last September I bought 5 proxy domains along with hosting, at that time the proxy business was pretty profitable, especially once your proxies got a steady flow of traffic the revenue kept flowing in without any work or maintenance.
All you had to do is invest about 20-30$ into proxy promotion(purhcasing sponsored mails from yahoo groups where members joined to get new proxies every day) after which it was like heaven, many people got lots of $$ from it.
But during the year that passed at schools/offices they blacklisted the words “prox”,”proxy”,”proxi”,”hide”,”surf”(i was to fix some issues at a school and some firms and they all had these words on the blacklist) and since all of my domains contained the name proxy or surf i literally got screwed, although i got my investment back($50 for the domains + $20 for promotion+ $20 for hosting) I earned extra cash the profit totalling $280 only from Adsense).
A few days ago I got 5 notification messages from Namecheap that my domains will expire in a month and I should renew them. I said to myself: “ahh screw it i’m out of the proxy business, ima give away those domains” what i did a bit later.
Here are the domains that I gave away:
- madproxy.net
- proyx.net
- proxyfeed.net
- digproxy.net
- surfme.us

I had a “minor issue” with the domain surfme.us and the user INRa. I promised him that i will push the domain to him today, and this morning when I got up i saw a message from him in my PM inbox:
I want the domain name surfme.us . I want the domain with the username and password of namecheap. Please reply.
Of course I asked him that does he realize what he just said, after which he PM’ed me back:
Sorry for that. I have not reset the password of my old account on namecheap.
USER : ******
Now, please push the domain name surfme.us on my a/c.
Thanks for it.
PM me after yu have pushed.
He was demanding the domain name. It’s pretty stupid to give demands to someone who is giving away free stuff, so i told him that he’s not getting the domain and I simply gave it away to an other user.
