Welcome to slayer’s blog | Web Design tips & tutorials

This game originally came out in 2001 but i have just recently started to play it. Although it is kind of old, it is a pretty good simulation game. You are the president of a a Caribbean island in which you are responsible for the whole island and the people you rule. This games starts in the 1950’s and you are basically Cuba and you can get help from and/or allie with the United States or Russia. You are not required to make an alliance with either of them but if you do make an alliance with one then the other country will no longer help you. What makes Tropico unique is that you control everything from housing, industry, wages, tourism and politics. You can be a leader who cares for the people or you can do whatever you want and not care for your people. What you do determines how yoru people react to you, if you fail to provide a certain need from the people then they can rebel against you and cause big problems. Unlike other simulation games, when you want to build something, it doesn’t build right away. The construction workers pretty much decide when they will build it and you have no control when they build it but you can set a priority so hopefully they will build it faster. I have found the major thing is that you have to keep the people happy and no matter what you do it is almost impossible to keep them happy. Your island can be making big profits from tourism and other industries but whether or not your people are happy is a different story. This game is very addicting and you can spend hours on it at a time just trying to build up your island whether you want it to be for tourism, industry driven, a military power or a combination of either aspects. If you want to play a realistic simulation game then get Tropico.
