Although with the new theme my blog traffic almost doubled(really) i’m thinking of getting a bit more traffic and backlinks by doing link exchanges.
I posted a thread over at DigitalPoint:
Title: Blogroll Link exchange with blogs from Web design/development/IT & C niche
Hello, i’m looking for a link exchange with some blogs from Web design/development/IT & C niche which have atleast 300 unique visitors/day
the links will be placed in blogroll and will be shown sitewide
My blog gets about 300-500unique visitors/day
You can check out the pagerank of my blog’s pages by clicking here
if your interested PM me please with your blog’s URL and traffic details
cheers,
Tom
In a matter of 6 hours i got like 7 offers from which i accepted only one. The rest of them wanted to do 3 way link exchanges with me and they would have placed my link on a so called partners page which actually contains links to dozens of sites.
Some people think they can motivate others to make 3 way link exchanges by saying “the partner page has pr3″. So what if it has pr3?, the pagerank’s value is dropping day by day. Webmasters have learned that the world isn’t spinning around the pagerank and there are more important factors to consider when doing link exchanges.
It doesn’t matter where you post the link exchange, as long as you manually check and add the links. I saw many blogs that use a script which automatically adds the links to the page after submission.
An other important thing is to exchange with sites in your niche(category), if you exchange links with travel sites and your blog is about Computers than surely you won’t get traffic. Also try to make link exchanges with sites that get at least the same amount of traffic that yours does.
Limit the number of exchanged links to 5-15 otherwise you will fill your websites footer/sidebar with lots and lots of links.
After you exchanged links constantly check if your link is still intact on your partner’s webpage. If he removed it do the same and never deal with him again. Also if you see that your webpage isn’t getting any traffic from the partner’s website cancel the link exchange by letting your partner know it’s not worth it for you.
If you do smart link building you will notice great results in a short period and both you and your link exchange partner will be pleased of it.
