Fact – The Bigger the RSS icon is the more subscribers you get

I recently made a study on some of my friends blogs. The main purpose of the study was to determine that  if a blogger uses bigger RSS icons will he get more subscribers.

So i asked them to replace the small RSS icons with big and glossy icons(150×150) and what do you know? the number of subscribers increased day by day. They we’re pleased by the success of the icons that brought them more subscribers but they also said that they don’t really like having giant RSS icons on their blogs and they would prefer to have less subscribers and a more cleaner and professional looking blog.

Well what can i say? - I completely agree with them, i also prefer to have a professional design with small RSS icons than have a crappy looking theme with huge icons.

It is a fact! – Readers are more attracted by big RSS icons than small ones. Why? because as they access your blog it just captivates their attention(its like seeing a pack of beer in the middle of no where)

What will you choose? More subscribers or a clean blog?

The decision is up to you ;)

You can always make a compromise and go the middle way: use a medium sized RSS icon, that won’t ruin the “professional design” of your theme, and you have them both: more subscribers + a clean blog..my 2 cents..
