Welcome to slayer’s blog | Web Design tips & tutorials

Maybe you know it, maybe you don’t but i own www.prdisplay.net , i bough the domain quite a while ago and wanted to create a web 2.0 pr checking and pr display website, well i got the script set it up, and since then i didnt have any time to make a new design for the script, so the website is as it is, with the default template and no customization at all.

I recently arrived home, and when i check my mailbox i see an email titled “prdisplay.com”….i’m thinking: what could it be, is someone interested in buying my domain prdisplay or something simmilar, when i opened the email i got the big suprise, they emailed me to convince me to buy prdisplay.com.

Here’s a quote from the email:

prdisplay.com is a pretty darn good domain name and, the truth is,
the .COM is a far stronger version of the name than then .NET is.
There are many reasons why the .COM is superior to the .NET including:
* .Com is the strongest brand on the internet. When people think of a
website, they intuitively think “.com”. Odds are people trying to
get to your website are inadvertently going to prdisplay.com because
they assume that’s where they can find you. .Com conveys
Professionalism that .net & .org cannot match. If you’d like to own
prdisplay.com, you can buy it now by covering our acquisition costs
and a modest profit. If you have any interest I encourage you to act
quickly because this domain name will only be offered for sale
for a limited time.

They we’re asking 207$ for the domain(thats a DAMN HIGH price for a deleted  and fresh registered domain - the domain was deleted on 9th of october, pretty good profit huh? you register a domain for like 9$ then try to sell it for 207$), ofcorse i emailed them back:

no thanks, i don’t need it

cheers,
Tom

I don’t really care if a domain is .com or .net or .org or .any tld, for me they all have the same value(except .info and .biz) to be honest i prefer .net TLD over any TLD and thats it
